Qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ experience in utility/construction operations, engineering or customer service.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn EWEB’s water system, policies, procedures and codes.

  • Create, process and finish requests, manage work in Customer and Work Management systems.
  • Assist supervisors, mechanics and crew leaders in planning and coordinating maintenance and capital work.
  • Coordinate with internal departments on work that interacts with water operations.
  • Participate in and support EWEB projects.

The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is looking for a highly motivated Water Utility Operations Coordinator who is excited to join a high performing team. This position will respond to a variety of inquiries from customers, contractors, EWEB crews and other EWEB departments.

Key duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates, schedules and dispatches water operation staff during normal working hours, during outages, and other emergency situations.
  • Respond to a variety of inquiries from customers, contractors, EWEB crews and other EWEB departments, which require technical knowledge of the Water system, EWEB Policies, Procedures and codes.
  • Maintain records, creates and processes work orders, update files, communicate status of work orders and coordinate corrections to drawings and material lists as required.
  • Coordinate and schedule service notifications, service requests and customer appointments.
  • Create, process and finish requests, manage work in Customer and Work Management systems to maintain accurate information utilized by EWEB departments, Finance, and the City of Eugene.
  • Assists supervisors, mechanics and crew leaders, in planning and coordinating maintenance and capital work.
  • Coordinate with internal departments on work that interacts with water operations.
  • Participates in and support EWEB projects.

This position requires the ability to provide in the moment technical feedback in a constructive and professional way and to remain calm in a fast-paced, and stressful environment.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of or the ability to learn about EWEB’s water system, EWEB policies, procedures and codes.

Work Schedule:

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., four 10-hour shifts per week (40 hours), with three days off.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting salary for this position is between $69,708 - $83,985.60 annually, commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.

Please Note: The base pay offered will be established based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge and skills, relevant experience, and internal equity. Consistent with EWEB’s compensation philosophy, it is not customary to place individuals at the high end of the salary range at the time of hire. Compensation decisions are made holistically to support fair, consistent, and equitable pay practices, taking into account the specific circumstances of each position and candidate.

Minimum Experience: Three years’ experience in utility/construction operations, engineering or customer service.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent and two years of college or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered qualifying.

Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Experience in water and/or electric operations preferred.

Post-offer background check required: Yes

Post-offer physical / functional test required: No

Apprenticeship or other education/training required as a condition of employment, progression or advancement:ICS 100 required within 90 days of hire.
