Job description

Title: Utility Operations Analyst
About Altus Power

Altus Power is a leading commercial scale solar power company delivering reliable, cost-effective electricity to households and enterprises from coast-to-coast. Based in Stamford, Connecticut, just a short train ride from New York City, we develop, own and operate solar energy systems and battery storage nationwide. Altus builds generation right where demand is highest, turning warehouse rooftops, parking lots and brownfields into power-producing assets that feed real megawatts into the country’s most capacity-constrained grids. Since 2009, Altus has grown to own and operate more than 1.3 gigawatts of solar producing projects across 30 states, serving more than 500 enterprises and more than 40,000 community solar subscribers.

In April 2025, Altus Power closed a partnership with TPG Rise Climate Transition Infrastructure, an investor that shares our long-term vision for bringing affordable, locally generated power to communities, businesses and households faster, helping to lower costs and strengthen the grid for everyone. Our ability to scale is backed by strategic partnerships and we are well-capitalized to drive growth in markets with supportive energy policies.

We’re building a different kind of power company, driven by expertise and defined by execution. Join us and help build what comes next.

About the Position:

Altus Power is seeking a highly motivated, exceptionally detail-oriented individual to support its rapidly growing Community Solar program. Reporting to the Vice President of Utility Relations & Digital Transformation and working closely with our Community Solar Market Managers, the Utility Operations Analyst will focus primarily on subscriber management across our 100+ project portfolio—processing, submitting, and ingesting customer allocation and reporting data using our internal processing tools. The role also supports utility coordination, compliance reporting, internal system upkeep (Monday.com and SharePoint), and ongoing tool development. This is a high-volume, deadline-driven role where accuracy is paramount and issues must be flagged to the team quickly—ideal for someone meticulously organized who communicates proactively and thrives on clean, reliable data.

Key Responsibilities:
Subscriber & Allocation Management (Top Priority)
  • Own subscriber list management across 100+ community solar projects, using our Master Allocation and Validation Processing Tool to process, submit, and reconcile allocation lists and customer reporting from our Altus Central database and utility partners.
  • Treat allocation submissions as the default top priority—completing them swiftly and accurately, and promptly flagging issues such as undersubscription, rejections, and data discrepancies to the team.
  • Maintain meticulous, error-free trackers in Monday.com to keep the team aligned and prevent downstream confusion.
Utility Coordination & Relations
  • Coordinate monthly utility meetings, submit utility inquiries, and assist with onboarding new projects with our utility partners.
  • Keep our Community Solar SharePoint site current and communicate utility and regulatory updates to the team clearly and promptly.
  • Gather and publish insights from the team and our external policy/utility/regulatory partners to the greater company.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
  • Support Market Managers in tracking and filing compliance-related reporting and documentation with utilities and regulatory agencies across active markets.
  • Help monitor program rules and regulatory changes, managing compliance trackers in Monday.com and escalating anything that affects allocations, subscribers, or operations.
Tool Development & Continuous Improvement
  • Help develop our Master Allocation and Validation Processing Tool as new utilities onboard—translating program requirements into new features (including through Claude), maintaining tool version history, and communicating changes to the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Business, Environmental Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in community solar subscriber management, utility relations, data processing, or regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Exceptional, demonstrable attention to detail—this role depends on consistently accurate data entry, allocation processing, and tracker management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated experience owning and managing trackers across many concurrent projects, ideally in Monday.com.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a habit of proactively flagging issues and updates to the team.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to support analysis and to help build and improve internal tools is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
