Job description

About Us

Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today — we’re changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power — delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America’s energy and future right where it’s needed most. By turning rooftops into local power plants, we’re reshaping how — and how fast — energy gets built in the U.S.

Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America.

Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide.

We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously — but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we’re collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together. Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other — whether that’s troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch.

If you’re looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment — and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. — we’d love to meet you.

About The Role

We are seeking a Project Development Analyst to support strategic initiatives within our Operations team and enhance operational excellence across the company. This is a highly cross-functional, opportunity for a mission-driven individual to learn and grow in a dynamic and fast-paced renewable energy environment.

This role is ideal for recent graduates or emerging professionals with 1+ years of experience who enjoy working with data, improving processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making. As a Project Development Analyst, you will work closely with project managers, engineering, finance, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are advanced efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical and organizational skills with a passion for renewable energy and a collaborative mindset. Candidates with engineering backgrounds are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Help manage and track progress on cross-functional projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with broader strategic goals.
  • Conduct research on zoning, permitting requirements, environmental factors, and land-use restrictions.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across teams to maintain project documentation and follow-up.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, delays, or inefficiencies in project processes (e.g., project development or engineering).
  • Help document standard operating procedures and suggest improvements to increase project throughput and team productivity.
  • Support the creation and monitoring of operational key performance indicators (KPIs), including project timelines, cycle time metrics, and team performance dashboards.
  • Create regular updates to senior leadership on project statuses, bottlenecks, and risks.
  • Partner with engineering, legal, and finance teams to align project requirements and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate the flow of information across teams to keep development milestones on track.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of key strategic initiatives across Operations (e.g., Project Development, Interconnection, Preconstruction, Execution, Technology, Finance).
  • Support the Project Development team in preparing presentations, reports, and materials for executive decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, environmental studies, or related field.
  • Some experience in business operations, energy, or related fields through full-time roles, internships, or project-based work.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to turn data into insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets, and preferably data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Notion) is a plus.
  • Engineering background or coursework is preferred but not required.
  • Interest in clean energy, sustainability, or infrastructure is a strong plus.
What You’ll Gain
  • Exposure to high-impact strategic and operational work across one of the fastest-growing sectors in the U.S.
  • Hands-on experience working with senior leaders across multiple departments.
  • A front-row seat to the solar energy revolution and a chance to help accelerate climate solutions.
  • Mentorship, learning opportunities, and career development in a values-driven organization.
