Position
Portfolio Operations Manager

The Markets & Revenue Team is responsible for subscriber origination and management, revenue generation, and overall market management for projects both in development and in operation. The team’s mandate includes:

  • Maximizing project revenue by originating subscribers and maintaining fully subscribed projects throughout their operating life
  • Establishing and maintaining a strong market presence in each state of operation by securing program capacity and supporting brand positioning
  • Providing timely, accurate data to support reporting on key operational metrics for internal and external stakeholders
Summary of Functions

The Portfolio Operations Manager will oversee a growing portfolio of operating community solar projects. This role works closely with Technical Asset Management, Real Estate, and Market Management teams to ensure that all operational, financial, and municipal obligations are met across the portfolio.

Reporting to the Vice President of Markets & Revenue, the Portfolio Operations Manager will manage obligations such as site utility bills, property taxes, PILOT payments, host community benefit agreements, and ongoing permitting requirements. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact with municipalities, helping ensure that operating projects are viewed as positive, reliable community assets over a 20+ year operating life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret lease agreements and state‑specific property tax rules to determine payment obligations
  • Manage timely payment of property taxes, site utility bills, PILOT payments, and other ongoing obligations
  • Review and track permit requirements and ensure ongoing compliance with municipalities and other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Coordinate closely with the Real Estate team on landlord relationships and reimbursement responsibilities
  • Partner with Technical Asset Management to ensure operational compliance with permitting and municipal requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with municipalities and respond to questions or issues during the operating term
Qualifications

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail‑oriented, and excited to grow within a fast‑paced organization operating in a rapidly evolving industry. This role requires strong process orientation and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.

  • 2–4 years of experience in account management, portfolio management, asset management, inside sales, or a related role
  • Preference for experience in renewable energy, finance, real estate, or a similarly relevant field
  • Strong project management, organization, and time management skills
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to manage diverse relationships and complex projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with data tools such as Python, Power BI, or similar platforms is a plus
