Job summary

Atlas Field Services is seeking a Utility Notification Technician to perform door-to-door outreach, notifying tree/landowners about upcoming vegetation work for utility safety. You will speak with homeowners, answer questions, and record notices using a smartphone app. The role requires outdoor work, safety awareness, and the ability to travel across various terrains.

This full-time outdoor role offers overtime opportunities in Corsicana, Waxahachie, and Dallas areas in Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Public speaking and clear communication are essential.
• Ability to work safely, independently outdoors.
• Comfortable driving and operating a 4x4 vehicle.
• Basic smartphone/computer skills for reporting.

Utility Notification Technician

Pay Range - $16/hr - $20/hr

Job Type – Full Time

Responsibilities:

• Visit properties to notify tree/landowners about upcoming vegetation work for utility safety (door-to-door, posted notices, and other outreach strategies).
• Talk directly with homeowners, answer basic questions, and address concerns professionally.
• Accurately record and track notifications using a smartphone/app.
• Help with storm response when required (opportunity for overtime).
• Work with team members as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; any prior work experience (customer service, natural resources, outdoor labor, utilities) is strongly preferred but not required.
• Ability to speak in public and can communicate information effectively
• Maintain a positive attitude, neat and professional appearance, and high standards of personal presentation
• Ability to work safely, productively, and independently
• Comfortable working alone outdoors in variable weather conditions in varying terrain
• Basic smartphone/computer skills for apps and reporting.
• Capable of safely operating a 4x4 vehicle on rough, unpaved, or off-road terrain
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Willingness and availability to work overtime and extended hours as needed

• Employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
• Work alone in an outdoor field environment; extensive vehicle operation and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.

Physical

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment:

• Walk, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time
• Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties
• See and hear in normal range with or without correction
• Operate assigned equipment and vehicles
• Carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (5 to 10 lbs.)
• Verbally communicate to exchange information with public
• Operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone
