Ellwood Crankshaft Group in Hermitage, PA is seeking a full-time Utility Maintenance Technician. This non-exempt role may require overtime, weekend and rotating shifts, as well as on-call duties in line with business needs.

You will perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic and pneumatic machine tools, handle oil and filter changes, monitor coolant, and support PM schedules. Training will be provided; candidates should have hands-on mechanical skills and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Ellwood Crankshaft Group is the world's leading manufacturer of large, one‑of‑a‑kind, multiple‑throw crankshafts. ECG products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines, mechanical shears, rock crushers, homogenizers and other miscellaneous applications. ECG serves the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas, and compression markets.

We are currently seeking a full‑time Utility Maintenance Technician for our Hermitage, PA facility. This non‑exempt position may require overtime, weekend and rotating shifts, as well as on‑call duties, in accordance with business needs.

The primary responsibilities include completing CNC and manual equipment preventive maintenance schedules, performing fluid, filter, and media changes. Full training will be provided, but proven knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Mechanical/analytical skills demonstrated via an examination
• Proficiency with common hand tools and power tools
• Strong computer skills
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and machining equipment
• Machine tool experience or manufacturing equipment working knowledge
• Must have a standard mechanic’s set of tools, including wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers
• One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
• Ability to work well with a team as well as independently and be very self‑motivated
• Must be results oriented with a strong desire to succeed
• Proven track record of continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Preventive maintenance on machine tools for hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Oil, filter and line changes
• Monitor machine coolant condition and provide corrective actions as needed
• Ensure machine preventive maintenance schedules are performed regularly
• Preventive maintenance on mobile equipment and vehicles
• Assist with other duties, assignments, and projects as required
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
• Assist Maintenance Department personnel with machine repairs and scheduled PM activity
• Support production personnel and provide periodic training for daily preventive maintenance activity

Physical Requirements

This position requires occasional material handling up to 100 pounds, including floor lifts, shoulder lifts and overhead lifts, as well as occasional pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and constant walking, bending and reaching are required. The physical demand category is heavy.

Education

Technical training, no certification or degree in maintenance mechanical (preferred).
