Job summary

Fluidics, Inc. in Stamford, CT is seeking a Utility Maintenance Mechanic to perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general building maintenance tasks.

You will report to a supervisor, complete service requests, operate hand and power tools, and help maintain multiple facilities including boiler, chiller rooms and mechanical spaces. Daily shifts with potential overtime are expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Three years building maintenance experience.
  • Strength and dexterity for physically demanding duties.
  • Valid driver’s license to operate assigned vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in maintenance settings.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Supervisor or assigned trades worker.
  • Completes service requests in a timely manner.
  • Performs electrical maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs.
  • Repairs restroom fixtures and minor plumbing duties.
  • Performs building equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Repairs sheet rock and spackles; spot paints common areas.
  • Replaces ceiling tiles and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Maintains cleanliness in Building Operations facilities and shops.
  • Paints equipment rooms and machinery.
  • Receives deliveries and coordinates elevator use for projects.
  • Operates a vehicle up to 1-1/2-ton truck; overtime possible.
  • Safely use all related hand and power tools.

Job Summary

Utility Maintenance Mechanic

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reports to Supervisor or assigned trades worker
  • Completes service request in a timely manner
  • Performs electrical maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs
  • Repairs restroom fixtures and other minor plumbing duties
  • Performs minor building equipment preventive maintenance
  • Repairs sheet rock and spackles
  • Spot paints common areas such as lobbies, freight elevator lobbies, restrooms, etc.
  • Replaces ceiling tiles and other basic carpentry tasks
  • Maintains cleanliness in and around all Building Operations Services facilities and shops, boiler room, chiller room, electrical room, mechanical rooms, etc.
  • Paints equipment rooms and machinery
  • Receives deliveries for projects, controls moving & delivery crew’s use of elevators
  • Driving skills with up to 1-1/2-ton truck.
  • Overtime and shift work may be required
  • Perform any additional duties on an as required basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual obligations.
  • Safely use all types of related hand and power tools
Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Three years building maintenance experience
  • Strength and dexterity to perform physically demanding duties as outlined
  • Valid driver’s license as required to drive any vehicles which may be assigned
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical of maintenance operations. Ability to safely wear a respirator, climb ladders, enter confined spaces, lift heavy objects and perform other physically demanding tasks

Shift: Day Shift, Monday through Friday
