Job summary

Durham County Utilities Division seeks a detail-oriented Utility Technician to locate and mark subsurface utilities, ensuring timely NC811 locates and accurate reporting. You will support wastewater plant and collection system tasks while adhering to regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Must possess valid NC driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Identify, locate and mark subsurface utilities to minimize damage during construction.
• Ensure NC811 locates are completed within required timeframes.
• Prepare clear reports and forms; assist in wastewater plant and collection tasks.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
