At UtiliQuest, as a Utility Locator, you'll learn safety rules and techniques for finding underground utility lines. You'll work alongside experienced locators, use specialized tools, and record findings to ensure safe and efficient construction projects.

What you’ll do as a Trainee Locator

• Learn utility locating techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation
• Develop understanding of local utility infrastructure and regulations
• Partner with experienced locators to mark underground utility lines
• Operate utility locating equipment
• Document findings using digital mapping tools
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Operate company vehicle safely
• Work overtime, travel, and be available for after-hours responsibilities as needed

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience
• Valid state driver's license (non-provisional) and acceptable MVR

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles, handle equipment, perform physical tasks, and work in all weather conditions
• Occasionally: work in confined spaces, climb stairs, walk on uneven terrain

Transferable skills

Facility maintenance, technician work, route driving, meter reading, landscaping, outdoor work, pest control, surveying, military, underground utility locating, construction, laborer roles.

Salary Range

$20 - $24 per hour, based on experience
