ELM Utility Services in Fargo, ND is seeking a Utility Locate Technician. You will perform high-quality utility marking to prevent damage during excavation and work from your company-provided vehicle as your mobile office.

The role uses the LaunchPoint software system to receive daily tasks, with on-call rotations and possible nights/weekends. Starting pay is $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. This is a safety-sensitive position with DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test, MVR, and background check.
• Safety-sensitive DOT position; marijuana prohibited by DOT regulations.

Responsabilités

• Work independently outdoors with company vehicle to complete a route of locate requests.
• Accurately locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and whiskers.
• Use mobile work system to receive daily tasks.
• Work on-call rotation and overtime, including nights and weekends when needed.
• Distinguish colors and read/understand English instructions.

Starting wages for this position will be $25.00 depending on experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Working independently outdoors with your company-provided vehicle as your mobile office, you will complete a route of locate requests each day
• Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers
• Use your mobile work system to receive your daily tasks
• Must be able to work on-call rotation and overtime as needed. This may include working on nights and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to distinguish colors and read/understand both written and verbal communication and instructions in English.

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug, Motor Vehicle Record, and background check. ***Please note: This is a Safety-Sensitive DOT position that must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations. The use of Marijuana remains a drug listed in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, and the use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
