What you'll do:

• Perform visual inspections of construction areas and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities such as gas, electric, cable TV, telecommunications, sewer, water lines, and street lighting.
• Use laptops or other devices to receive, document, and close excavation notices.
• Read and interpret utility maps/prints to determine utility types and sizes.
• Communicate effectively with excavators, utility representatives, and team members regarding underground facilities.
• Operate electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground utilities within accuracy limits.
• Perform light excavation, when necessary, to expose utilities.
• Provide accurate documentation and sketches of locate activities.
• Respond to and manage excavation notices promptly.
• Operate company vehicles safely.
• Perform manhole entries using proper equipment and safety devices.

Who we are looking for:

• At least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Minimum 6 months experience locating underground utilities
• Experience in telecommunications or utility construction/maintenance preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to operate utility trucks, equipment, and tools safely
• Proficient with Microsoft and Google applications or similar software
• Ability to follow directions, produce quality work, and maintain safety standards
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
• Willing to work overtime, after hours, weekends, and in all weather conditions
