Job summary

Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials is seeking a Utility Laborer for our Big Spring, TX location. You will perform a variety of labor tasks as part of a crew to support safe and efficient jobsite performance.

The role involves occasional heavy lifting, signaling equipment operators, and helping move traffic control devices while adhering to safety requirements. A high school diploma or GED and 1+ year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing experience.
• Good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Willing to work outside in the elements.
• Wear proper PPE when required.

Responsibilities

• Occasionally performs general laboring duties, such as shoveling and raking stone, gravel, earth, and topsoil material.
• Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
• Regularly erects, positions, and moves sign packages in a safe, accurate manner, adhering to state specifications.
• Move traffic control devices regularly lifting 30 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
• Occasionally direct traffic through construction sites using proper equipment and procedures.
• Occasionally lift heavy objects.
