Sonesta International Hotels in New York seeks a diligent Utility to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across kitchen and dishwashing areas, operate dishwashing equipment, and assist with basic food prep. The role demands physical endurance, attention to safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities include operating machines, pre-washing, hand-washing, restocking, and ensuring overall hygiene while adhering to health regulations.

Qualifications

• Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual tasks in hot, humid environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Pre-wash items, load/unload machines, and inspect cleanliness of wares.
• Hand-wash kitchen equipment and sanitize surfaces.
• Restock cleaned wares and keep workstations organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and service areas.
• Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Clean and maintain garbage compactor and trash areas.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment per safety guidelines (OSHA).
• Support basic food prep and banquet setup as needed.
• Follow sanitation, health, and safety regulations.

Job Description Summary

The Utility plays a key role in delivering Sonesta's mission of providing exceptional service to both guests and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality ,maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and dishwashing areas. Operate dishwashing equipment, clean and organize kitchenware and equipment, handle trash removal, and assist with basic food prep and special cleaning projects as needed.

Expected Hours of Work

• Flexibility to work variable days, including weekends and holidays, is required.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights) is essential.

Pay Range

Hourly compensation range is $31.10 - $32.97. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and specific/overall experience.
