USIC is hiring in the Boston, MA area for an Utility Inspection Technician. You will inspect gas meters for leaks, complete required paperwork, and report findings while working outdoors in varying weather as part of a daytime, full-time role.

You will receive thorough training, a company vehicle, and benefits. Salary starts at $24–$32 per hour, with progression to higher rates after qualification and milestones.

Qualifications

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to use simple hand tools.
• Ability to read a utility map.

Responsibilities

The starting pay for this position is $24-$32/hr., depending on experience. New technicians will be moved to $25/hr. once fully qualified and working independently in the field and $26/hr. after reaching their first anniversary date.As leaders in the utility industry, concentrating on quality and safety, RECONN is looking for people to join our team who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment.

Utility Inspection Technician: Responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion. This includes visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed. Meter Inspection Technicians will be required to report to their respective work area on time at the start of each shift. While on-site, the technician will be responsible for identifying any abnormal operating conditions along with accurately filling out all forms associated with the inspection visit (the form may be electronic or paper).

These are daytime, full-time positions and overtime may be required. Instructor-led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends.

What We Need from You (Our Requirements):

• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
