Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. invites engineering-minded students to join its Utility Infrastructure Group as a summer intern in Columbus, OH. You will work with engineers on real water and stormwater projects, gaining hands-on experience through design work, calculations, and field visits.

You will support both office tasks and field activities, while benefiting from structured training, mentorship, and potential future opportunities within the firm.

Qualifications

• Majors in Civil, Environmental, Construction Eng., Land Surveying, Structural Eng. or related programs with Civil focus.
• Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license for site travel.
• Strong work ethic, communication skills and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Ohio Department of Public Works team on data gathering for regulatory compliance.
• Use GIS, client databases and historic records to uncover project information and build tech/research skills.
• Assist in preparing documents like permit applications, technical exhibits, design drawings and inspection records.
• Support office tasks and field construction activities while developing skills through structured training.

American Structurepoint’s Utility Infrastructure Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Columbus, OH! As a Utility Infrastructure Intern, you’ll work alongside engineers on real utility projects, including water and stormwater systems—gaining hands‑on experience through design work, calculations, and field visits. You’ll support both office tasks and construction activities in the field, all while developing essential skills through structured training.

What you will do:

• Collaborate directly with Project Managers and the Ohio Department of Public Works team to research data and records for regulatory compliance - getting real experience working with clients

• Other tasks as needed to support the team
