Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. invites motivated Civil Engineering students to join its Utility Infrastructure Group in Akron, OH as a summer intern. You will work with engineers on real water and stormwater projects, performing design tasks, calculations, and field visits while supporting both office tasks and on-site activities.

You will gain hands-on experience, learn through structured training, and be mentored as you contribute to projects that improve local community infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Civil, Environmental, Construction, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or related programs with a Civil focus.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license for travel to project sites.
• Eager to learn, communicate effectively, and take on new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers and the Ohio Dept of Public Works team to research data and records for regulatory compliance.
• Use GIS, client databases, and historic records to uncover important project information.
• Gain insight into working as a consultant in a client-focused environment and communicate results.
• Conduct research, summarize findings, and help prepare permit applications, exhibits, design drawings, and inspection records.
• Support the team with other tasks as needed.

American Structurepoint's Utility Infrastructure Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Akron, OH! As a Utility Infrastructure Intern, you'll work alongside engineers on real utility projects, including water and stormwater systems-gaining hands‑on experience through design work, calculations, and field visits. You'll support both office tasks and construction activities in the field, all while developing essential skills through structured training.
