Job summary

XKIG in White Cloud, MI is seeking a Groundsperson to support crews by performing ground-based work, clearing brush and trees, and handling site cleanup. The role emphasizes safety, efficient debris handling, and coordinating with the team during storm restoration when needed.

The position is full-time, requires travel for storm work, and offers benefits including health insurance and a 401K. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with physical stamina and outdoor work readiness

Qualifications

• Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saw and pruners in uneven terrain.
• Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must be able to wear necessary PPE.
• Must have a Driver’s License if hired for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce safe practices and rules on site.
• Clear debris and brush from work areas and assist crew from the ground.
• Use hand tools to cut brush and trees where directed.
• Load/unload trucks with logs and debris; feed brush into chipper.
• Set up and break down road signs; flag traffic as needed.
• Operate or drive trucks and equipment as assigned.
