Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a vegetation management supervisor to identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines, and submit inspection results with recommendations to clients. The role requires planning, directing, and coordinating activities of assigned line-clearance crews.

You will discuss access issues with line-clearance crews and serve as a liaison among clients, tree crews, and client customers, while maintaining strong communication, organization, and safety standards in

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field; or high school diploma/GED with two years' UVM experience.
• High school diploma/GED may be substituted with 5 years of related UVM experience.
• Previous vegetation management experience preferred.
• ISA Arborist certification preferred.
• Competent with Microsoft Office Suite.
• GIS data collection software/hardware experience preferred but not required.
• Self-motivated, organized, production oriented.
• Comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for vegetation activities.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Multi-tasking and time management skills.
• Able to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (nights/weekends as needed).
• Valid driver's license required.

Requirements

• Two- or four-year forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources degree or related field OR high school diploma/GED plus two years of UVM experience
• High school diploma/GED requirement can be substituted with 5 years of related UVM experience
• Previous Vegetation management experience preferred
• ISA Arborist certification preferred
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
• Candidate must be self‑motivated, organized, production oriented
• Candidate must be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
• Candidate must be able to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
