Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field-based Vegetation Management Supervisor in Indiana to oversee line-clearance crews, assess vegetation along utility corridors, and maintain strong client relations. You will plan operations, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with clients and crews across sites.

The role requires a background in forestry or environmental sciences, experience in vegetation programs, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two- or four-year forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources degree or related field (or equivalent).
• High school diploma with 2 years of UVM experience, or 5 years of related UVM experience.
• Vegetation management experience preferred.
• ISA Arborist certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• GIS data collection software/hardware experience preferred but not required.
• Self-motivated, organized, production-oriented.
• Able to manage geographic area and vegetation activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Able to work nights/weekends when required.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers

Requirements

• Two- or four-year forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resources degree or related field OR high school diploma/GED plus two years of UVM experience
• High school diploma/GED requirement can be substituted with 5 years of related UVM experience
• Previous Vegetation management experience preferred
• ISA Arborist certification preferred
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
• Candidate must be self‑motivated, organized, production oriented
• Candidate must be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
• Candidate must be able to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors and have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed)
• Valid driver's license required
