General Description

The foreman supervises field operations of a pipe crew and engages in the trade work performed by the crew.

Key Duties

1. Knowledgeable in pipework for sanitary sewer, drains, and watermains.
2. Directly supervises the pipe crew, reporting to the Superintendent.
3. Operates and supervises heavy equipment on project sites.
4. Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications.
5. Provides reports on time and materials.
6. Ensures all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
7. Uses and supervises the use of heavy equipment.
8. Performs dewatering, bypass pumping, wet utilities, line alignment, leak testing.
9. Knowledge of local specifications, materials, and methods.
10. Maintains flexibility with schedule, location, and shift changes.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50+ lbs.
• Proven experience supervising subsurface construction, with ability to multi-task and resolve issues.
