Eaton's ES AMER NAS division seeks a Utility Field Application Engineer. This home-based role requires residency within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY, Franklin, MA, Clifton Park, NY, Rochester, NY or Windsor, CT.

You will lead design, development and validation of Eaton products and mentor sales engineers and external partners. You will call on electrical engineers, support major projects, conduct product seminars, and assist with technical quotations, factory visits, and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum seven (7) years of electrical industry sales and/or electrical engineering experience.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• No relocation benefit is offered; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Franklin, MA; Syracuse, NY; Clifton Park, NY; Rochester, NY or Windsor, CT.

Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Utility Field Application Engineer. This is a home-based position and candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations to be considered for this position: Franklin, MA; Syracuse, NY; Clifton Park, NY; Rochester, NY or Windsor, CT.

What you’ll do:

Position Overview: The primary function of the Utility Field Application Engineer is to achieve acceptability of Eaton’s electrical products in the marketplace, while providing technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, outside rep agencies and to both internal and external customers. This position will be responsible for leading the design, development and validation of Eaton products and service applications. This position will be familiar with competitive product offerings and be able to position Eaton products to best compete against competitive products.

In this function you will:

• Call on electrical engineers at related utility customers and consulting firms across the assigned sales territory to assist with technical design and position Eaton related products in a preferred position
• Provide support on major projects including submittals drawings and interfacing with the customer and project consultants
• Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions to end users, distributors, consultants and sales engineers
• Work with end users to gain acceptance and promote Eaton products Assist customers with design build opportunities
• Assist with technical support for project quotations
• Assist with customer factory visits, inspections and witness tests

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum seven (7) years of electrical industry sales and/or electrical engineering experience
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Franklin, MA; Syracuse, NY; Clifton Park, NY; Rochester, NY or Windsor, CT will be considered. Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Knowledgeable of Eaton electrical products, services and competitors

• Demonstrated ability to interface with electrical consultant principals and lead electrical engineers, as well as experience calling on utility generating plants
• Experience with utility scale solar projects and experience with hydro‑electric applications
• Possess knowledge of products, markets channels and associated applications
• Ability to travel up to 50%

The compensation range for this full‑time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $164,738 - $241,615.

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
