Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee is seeking an Engineer to maintain and improve building systems, ensuring guest comfort and safe operations in a luxury historic property.

You will perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, respond to requests promptly, support energy efficiency efforts, and uphold safety standards while maintaining service excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous engineering, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance experience required; hospitality experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems with the ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, work orders, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to supporting guests and associates.
• Ability to perform physical job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the interior and exterior of the hotel through preventative maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and furnishings.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest and associate maintenance requests, delivering exceptional service and minimizing operational disruptions.
• Support cost-control initiatives by promoting energy and utility efficiency, including monitoring and maintaining heat, power, lighting, water, and sewer systems.
• Uphold all OSHA, safety, and hotel standards while demonstrating professionalism, participating in required meetings, and recommending process improvements that enhance the guest and associate experience.
