Job summary

The Pfister Hotel, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, Milwaukee, seeks an Engineer to help keep our iconic property safe and efficient, supporting guest comfort and associate safety behind the scenes.

You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems, respond promptly to requests, follow OSHA and LOTO protocols, and contribute to our legendary service legacy. This is a full-time hourly role with a competitive wage.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • Experience in maintenance, engineering, facilities, hotel, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel facilities and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, delivering guest-focused service.
  • Maintain interior and exterior of the property to brand standards.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and LOTO requirements.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and daily shift reports on time.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and efficiency.

The Pfister Hotel is seeking an Engineer to help maintain our iconic property and support the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of our guests and associates. What you will be doing
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest and associate maintenance requests, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the hotel property to company and brand standards.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and daily shift reports accurately and on time.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction while assisting with utility and cost‑control initiatives.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, hotel, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze problems, and implement effective repair solutions independently.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
