Job summary

HDR is seeking a Utility EIT/Design Coordinator in Charleston or Columbia, SC. You will support utility coordination, research, investigations, and design tasks for civil projects across the southeast, reporting to licensed PEs and ensuring QA/QC compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating with utility owners, preparing plans and exhibits, and assisting with field coordination during relocations. Strong communication and CAD proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
• Must participate in employee-owned culture.
• Two years of related experience in Transportation/Roadway/Utility.

Responsibilities

• Utility Coordination – assist with coordination between project team and utility owners to identify and mitigate utility risk.
• Utility Research – perform utility records research and prepare contact lists.
• Utility Investigation – coordinate SUE investigations with HDR/subconsultants.
• Utility Conflict Resolution – identify conflicts and support resolution through design or relocation.
• Utility Design – assist with design of wet and dry utilities for improvements.
• Utility Plan Production – assist with client deliverables and exhibits.
• Utility Field Coordination – work with utility owners during relocations.
• Overall Project Team Coordination – collaborate with engineers and managers to meet client needs.
• QA/QC – follow guidelines and participate in plan/spec/cost QA/QC reviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
