Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a maintenance worker to service water infrastructure, repair lines, and install meters. You will interact with citizens on minor inquiries and perform safety-focused preventive maintenance in a field setting.

Qualified applicants typically have a high school diploma (preferred) and the ability to follow instructions. Willingness to obtain Oklahoma CDL Class A with N endorsement and Water Operator certifications within six months is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Repairs water lines and lays new pipe.
• Repairs and installs fire hydrants and line valves.
• Installs and exchanges water meters.
• Interfaces with citizens regarding minor questions or complaints.
• Inspects equipment for safety hazards before use.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Keeps work area clean and safe.
• Follows safety rules and uses safety equipment.
• Assists other workers as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.

Job description

Work Period:

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Subject to emergency call back and shift change)

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to understand, follow and/or provide verbal and written instructions or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record. Must obtain an Oklahoma Commercial Driver’s License, Class A with N endorsement within six (6) months of employment (depending on class/testing availability). Must obtain State of Oklahoma Class "D" Water Operator certification and/or Class "D" Distribution/Collection certification within six (6) months of employment.

Knowledge:

Hand and power tools. Maintenance and construction work.

Skills:

Interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous of fellow employees and citizens while performing duties.

Essential Functions:
