Job summary

SSP America is seeking a Utility to support our Seattle locations. The role focuses on maintaining hygienic work areas, cleaning surfaces and equipment, and ensuring sanitary standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Applicants should have at least 6 months in retail or food service, good verbal and written communication, and English literacy to interact with guests and team members. This on-site position offers full benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hygienic work areas to create a positive guest experience.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment.
• Remove refuse to designated areas.
• Clean equipment using specified chemicals to sanitary standards; may include heavy equipment.
• Load/unload supply trucks between storage and work areas.
• Clear and reset tables in dining areas and transport service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Stock, date, rotate, and check temperatures of food items.

This Utility position is located in our Commissary location at 9844 40th Ave S, Seattle, WA, 98118.

Our restaurant portfolio in the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is comprised of brands such as: Ballard Brew Hall, Mi Casa Cantina, Greedy Cow, Pei Wei, Bad Egg, and many more.

Our Utility positions at SSP have the very important role of keeping our restaurants and units clean and sanitized for both our guests and our team.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Utility at SSP America:

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (i.e., floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas, etc.)
• Removes refuse to designated areas.
• Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards; may include the use of heavy equipment
• Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
• Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings, as needed and transports service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place.
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items

• High school diploma preferred
• Verbal and written communication
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and receive instructions
• Experience in dealing with problems involving guest service
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
