Job summary

SSP America is seeking a dedicated Utility to help keep our dining areas clean and safe for guests and team members in San Jose, CA. The role focuses on hygienic work areas, friendly guest interactions, and supporting a smooth service flow.

You will participate in daily maintenance, assist with table resets, and stock supplies while upholding high cleanliness standards and safety protocols. Full-time hours, benefits, and training provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform cleaning and sanitizing tasks to high standards.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced dining environment.
• Open to working full-time with varying shifts, including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of surfaces and equipment (floors, walls, tables, ect.).
• Clear and reset tables between seatings and transport serviceware to the kitchen.
• Load/unload supplies and stock food items with proper dating and rotation.
• Assist guests with requests and communicate needs to supervisors.
• Participate in paid training and follow safety procedures.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Utility at SSP America:

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (i.e., floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas, etc.)
• Removes refuse to designated areas.
• Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings, as needed and transports service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place.
• Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards; may include the use of heavy equipment
• Assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server/supervisor
• Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
• Other duties as assigned.
