Job summary

Progressive in Carson City, NV is seeking a design professional to perform design work for electric and/or gas new or expanded service or system improvements. You will draft with AutoCAD and support construction projects, ensuring designs align with company standards, tariffs, and regulatory requirements while developing preliminary estimates.

You will act as the main point of contact for developers, contractors, engineering firms, and local agencies from project inception to completion,

• Experience with AutoCAD drafting.
• Experience supporting construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Design work for electric and/or gas new or expanded service or system improvements.
• Maintains a working knowledge of company standards, tariffs and regulatory requirements to provide cost-effective designs; creates and delivers preliminary estimates.
• Identifies customer needs and serves as the central contact for developers, contractors, engineering firms, local agencies and utilities from inception to completion.
• Prepares and presents financial agreements to customers and conducts pre-construction meetings with Electric and Gas Inspectors, General Foreman and Area Service Managers as needed.
• May participate in after-hours on-call rotation and assist in restoration during storms or emergencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs design work for electric and/or gas new or expanded service or system improvements.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all company standards, tariffs and regulatory requirements to provide the most cost-effective designs. Creates and delivers preliminary estimates.
• Identifies needs and expectations of the customer for electric and/or gas utility requirements of project specific development. Serves as the central point of contact for internal and external customers such as developers, contractors, engineering firms, local agencies and utilities from the inception to the completion of the assigned projects. Focuses on improvement of external customer satisfaction.
• Prepares and presents the financial agreement to the customer ensuring that the company delivers a comprehensive and accurate contract. Conducts pre-construction meetings with Electric and Gas Inspectors, General Foreman and Area Service Managers as necessary.
• May participate in the after hour rotational on call supervisor program and assists in restoration activities during storms or other emergencies
