Job summary

Eversource seeks a data engineer to advance Protection and Controls analytics and data management. You will work with IT and field teams to build scalable data pipelines, improve data quality, and support downstream engineering tools.

Responsibilities include data ingestion, processing, and creating PowerBI reports, with a focus on compliance, reliability, and performance. Must have 3+ years in data engineering and a degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (MATLAB highly desired) for engineering calculations.
• Experience with data pipeline and data integration tools.
• Experience with database technologies.
• Experience with software administration in the electrical utility industry (i.e. Doble PowerBase) preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of or experience working with utility companies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyze protection system records to ensure they are maintained per NERC, NPCC, and ISO NE standards.
• Define P&C requirements to support scalable data pipelines for ingesting and storing data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with IT and other teams to build and maintain P&C data infrastructure and databases.
• Monitor and optimize data quality for performance and efficiency.
• Create and curate datasets for reporting and use PowerBI visualizations.
• Develop tools to translate P&C logic into code used by engineers.
