Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. is seeking a motivated Utility Crew member to support safe, efficient production operations. You will assist with material movement, housekeeping, and readiness activities to keep lines running smoothly.

Ideal candidates are physically capable, with the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with production teams to maintain 5S standards and timely material flow in a manufacturing environment.

Job Description

The Utility Crew role supports safe and efficient production operations by assisting with material movement, housekeeping, production readiness, and operational support tasks. This position helps ensure production employees remain focused on core line responsibilities while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Pay Rate: $27.44 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Support
  • Assist production teams with operational readiness tasks across the facility
  • Support line changeovers, including staging materials and assisting with preparation activities
  • Ensure necessary materials such as rolls, wrap, pallets, and supplies are available at point of use
  • Support palletizer and inventory functions as needed
  • Assist with seconds/rework processes including labeling, sorting, and staging
  • Transport finished product, scrap, or materials to designated warehouse or yard locations
  • Support quality processes by assisting with sample collection or staging when required
  • Assist operators during production stoppages or high-demand situations
  • Material Handling & Facility Support
  • Remove and dispose of waste materials, including granules and production debris
  • Empty and transport waste hoppers and containers as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, walkways, and production zones
  • Assist with staging and movement of production supplies and consumables
  • Maintain organized storage areas and support inventory control efforts
  • Operational Readiness
  • Support production teams during color changes, roll changes, or shift transitions
  • Assist with maintaining production flow by responding to operational needs as directed
  • Help maintain visual workplace standards and 5S expectations
  • Assist with basic equipment cleaning and housekeeping around machinery
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and LOTO requirements
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately
  • Use proper lifting techniques and material handling practices
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Participate in safety meetings and required training
  • Team & Communication
  • Communicate effectively with production operators, supervisors, and leadership
  • Respond promptly to radio or supervisor direction
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude
  • Support team goals related to safety, quality, and productivity
  • Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and temperature variations
  • Requires frequent walking, lifting, pushing, and material handling
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs as required
