Job summary

Indianapolis Public Schools is seeking a Utility Craftsman to support facilities and operations within the district. You will assist craft workers with maintenance tasks, including insulating pipes, waterproofing, sealing joints, and performing heavy lifting as part of a busy school environment.

A high school diploma or GED and a valid Indiana driver’s license are required. This is a Non-Exempt, on-site position within IPS, offering steady local employment and benefits while contributing to

  • Helps put caulking in joints, cracks and around windows to seal against water or air leaks.
  • Assists cement finisher, masonry workers, landscaper and floor covering installer by performing heavy work such as lifting, carrying, digging and demolition.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License.
