LJA is seeking an Utility Coordinator in Houston, TX. You will support transportation projects by coordinating with utility companies, clients, and project teams, assisting with conflict assessments, document reviews, cost estimates, and ROW documentation.

You will work on interstate corridors and arterial projects for state and local government clients, learning from professional engineers and senior staff while contributing to a range of initiatives and collaborations.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an Utility Coordinator at LJA, you will support transportation projects by coordinating with utility companies, clients, and project teams. You will assist with utility conflict assessments, document and plan reviews, utility agreements, cost estimates, and right-of-way (ROW) documentation while working on high-profile interstate corridors and multidisciplinary arterial projects for state and local government clients.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

Contacting and maintaining relationships with utility companies and their staff.

Attending virtual and in-person meetings with clients, utility companies, and teammates.

Performing utility conflict assessments, document and plan reviews, preparing utility agreements and cost estimates, and reviewing ROW documents.

Contributing to a variety of projects, including high-profile interstate corridors and multidisciplinary arterial projects for state and local government clients.

Learning and teaching in a peer setting.

Gaining experience working directly with professional engineers and senior staff.

Developing and using advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices.

Interacting with clients and other consultants.

Participating in team lunches, breakfasts, and social activities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or some college experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to use Excel and Word.

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

Experience with Canva and Copilot.

Previous work experience with local government entities.
