Job summary

LJA Transportation is seeking a Graduate Engineer to support design, production, and project administration using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. You will work on feasibilities, cost opinions, studies, exhibits, construction plans, and bid packages for a diverse client base.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience, learning, and collaboration with senior engineers. A bachelor’s in civil engineering and FE exam progress are preferred, with flexible office dynamics and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET-accredited university (Civil Engineering preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software is expected.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and water resources software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical peers to perform design calculations and generate technical drawings.
• Expand engineering toolbox with advanced techniques and industry practices.
• Investigate site conditions and constraints to inform design iterations and direction.
• Support production of feasibility studies, cost opinions, exhibits, and bid packages.
• Provide information and exhibits to inform decision making for project objectives.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Transportation, you will use AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and other design and production software to provide design, production, and project administrative support in the delivery of feasibilities, opinions of probable cost, studies, exhibits, construction plans, takeoffs, bid packages, models, and development support tasks for an extensive list of public and private clients. A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE

• Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, and generate technical drawings and exhibits
• Expanding your engineering toolbox and vocabulary to add knowledge of advanced techniques, applied theory, industry concepts, and best practices.
• Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables; supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems and possible solutions.
• Working in an office equipped with meeting rooms, amenities, and excellent technology.
• Investigating existing site conditions, jurisdictional criteria, and constraints to inform design iterations and direction.
• Check-ins with your manager and other engineering mentors to identify areas of excellence and growth opportunities.
• Providing information or exhibits to inform client and internal leaders in decision making related to the execution or implementation of project objectives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET accredited university (Civil Engineering Preferred)

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Previous work experience in the engineering industry
• Experience with Bluebeam and Water Resources Software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS)
• Passed the FE Exam
• Strong communication skills
