Job summary

Whitman, Requardt and Associates, LLP in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Utility Coordinator to manage utility identification, protection, design and relocation for infrastructure projects. The role requires interfacing with utility owners and project teams, and a solid knowledge of state and federal requirements.

Candidates should hold a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET program, 5–10 years of utility coordination experience, and preferably a PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of utility coordination/design or related experience.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience with utility design, coordination and utility construction methods.
• Experience with MicroStation/GEOPAK/OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD.
• Exceptional communication, technical writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
• Mentors, manages, and provides oversight of the Utility Coordination Team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate identification, protection, design and relocation of utilities for infrastructure projects.
• Interface with utility owner personnel and project teams to establish roles and responsibilities for utility design and construction.
• Perform and coordinate design and constructability reviews related to utilities.
• Research utility records and facilitate SUE activities to locate utilities.
• Monitor relocation schedules and review related invoices.
• Assist business development and proposal development with technical approaches.
