Job description

U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering, and construction services. Headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida, with over 850 employees across twenty states, U.S. Water is a rapidly expanding company.

Essential Functions

(As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this list is illustrative and not comprehensive. Not all employees will perform all duties listed.)

1. Perform manual labor in heavy construction projects, including pump station demolition and rehabilitation.
2. Excavate and expose utility piping to identify tie-in points.
3. Perform confined space entries for wastewater wet well access and demolition.
4. Execute various trades such as carpentry, concrete work, pipe work, and landscaping.
5. Maintain a clean and safe job site, securing tools and equipment daily.
6. Handle and store materials appropriately.
7. Load/unload trucks and transport materials.
8. Follow safety and incident reporting procedures, reporting issues to supervisors or safety personnel.

Physical and Safety Requirements

• Must have stamina for physical activity, including standing, walking, and working in rough terrain, water, heights, or confined spaces.
• Capable of lifting or carrying up to 65 pounds routinely.
• Able to climb, bend, and work in tight areas; hear alarms and detect hazards audibly.
• Work independently and adhere to schedules.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Use tools and equipment safely and properly.
• Dependable attendance and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience demonstrating ability to perform the job.
• Willingness to perform manual labor following instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of utility experience.

Work Environment

Primarily outdoors, near moving machinery, in various weather conditions, and around chemicals and dust. Must be able to lift, push, and carry objects over time and work in challenging environments such as trenches and remote sites.

Additional Requirements

Possession or ability to obtain a valid state driver’s license and pass clearance for military installations.
