Job summary

Five Star Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled equipment operator in Chicago, IL to perform heavy equipment duties, locate underground utilities, and follow blueprints for installation work. Must have strong communication and physical stamina, with the ability to lift 20+ pounds and travel as needed.

Experience with rubber tire tractors and other heavy machinery (backhoes, skid loaders, dozers, sidebooms, vibratory plows) is preferred. CDL is required and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while operating various heavy machinery as related to each job.
• Locate underground utility services, such as pipes or wires, prior to beginning work.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Utilize different machines for placement and removal of dirt/debris.
• Use machinery to guide and install pipe and cable.
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with Laborer jobs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
