Job summary

Riley Brothers, Inc. is seeking an Operator I to join a 2–4 person crew in our Arkansas operations.

The role requires operating heavy equipment such as mini excavators and backhoes around live utilities, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and adherence to DOT rules. Responsibilities include machine operation, site dig work, mapping, and coordinating with teammates to ensure trench work meets specifications and timelines.

Qualifications

• One (1+) year of experience operating backhoe/mini excavator or related equipment.
• Experience digging around underground utilities is required.
• Ability to read basic prints and Underground Facility Location Sketch preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maneuvers heavy machinery on utility construction sites.
• Inspects equipment and reports defects or safety concerns.
• Maintains paperwork including logs and DVIR as required.
• Follows safety regulations and 811 digging laws.
• Exposes underground utilities manually and assists with trench/backhoe work.
