Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts in Sparta, NC is seeking a motivated Utility Climber with 6–12 months of tree care and utility line clearance experience. This full-time, outdoor role involves climbing and operating forestry equipment to perform line clearance, pruning and removals.

The company provides free on-the-job training and supports licensing/certifications with wage increases, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Work is outdoors, year-round, with duties at heights up to 75 feet.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months experience in tree care.
• Experience with utility line clearance and climbing.
• Able to work 45 hours per week.
• Must be 18+ with HS diploma.
• Willing to obtain CDL A/B within 6 months.
• Able to pass physical, drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform line clearance.
• Operate forestry equipment safely (woodchipper, bucket truck, chainsaws).
• Prune and remove vegetation.
• Work outdoors year‑round at varying heights.
