Job summary

HI Steaks is seeking a Utility Clerk in Honolulu area to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across the facility. You will operate cleaning equipment, assist with palletizing, and ensure safety procedures are followed to support daily operations.

The role requires the ability to work with little supervision, lift up to 50 lbs, and adapt to AM/PM/Overnight shifts. Prior janitorial or warehouse experience is preferred, with TB clearance prior to start.

  • Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely
  • Restock restrooms and break rooms; remove trash and recyclables
  • Report spills, hazards, damaged equipment, and pest activity to lead or manager
  • Work AM, PM, or Overnight shifts; maintain punctuality and uniform

Job description

Overview

This role is responsible for keeping the facility clean, sanitary and orderly. The Utility Clerk must be knowledgeable about sanitation and safety, use proper cleaning techniques, and develop thorough work habits. The Utility Clerk works well without supervision, paces their work to complete all assigned tasks in the allotted time, and completes cleaning schedules accurately and on time.

  • Operate a walk-behind scrubber and powered pallet jacks after completing company certification;
  • Assist with palletizing product;
  • Organize work areas and storage;
  • Clean assigned areas using brooms, dust pans, and other cleaning equipment;
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with Company standards;
  • Handle, mix, and store cleaning chemicals safely, following product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS);
  • Clean and restock restrooms and break rooms;
  • Remove trash, cardboard, and recyclables from work areas;
  • Complete sanitation logs and checklists as required;
  • Report spills, safety hazards, damaged equipment, and pest activity to a lead or manager.
  • Report to work on time and in uniform;
  • Work with a positive attitude and demeanor;
  • Take on new assignments with an eager and helpful demeanor.
Other Duties
  • Any additional duties as assigned.
  • Work in ambient and cold environments and handle repetitive motions or tasks as assigned.
  • AM, PM, or Overnight Shifts.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and moving equipment such as pallet jacks; protective clothing and equipment required.
  • Some work may be performed outdoors.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Prior food distribution, warehouse, or janitorial experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
  • TB clearance required prior to start date.
