Amentum is seeking a Utility Cleaner to join our team in McLean, VA. The role involves cleaning offices, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas, using a range of cleaning tools and chemicals, and maintaining safety standards. A Top Secret/SCI clearance is required to obtain employment.

Typical schedule is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The position may require handling hazardous materials and occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mop, sweep, scrub, wax, buff, and strip floors; use cleaning equipment and supplies
• Clean and disinfect restrooms; restock soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Clean breakrooms and kitchens; clean tables, sinks, counters, refrigerators, and drinking fountains
• Empty trash; manage waste and recyclables
• Dust furniture, equipment, blinds, and light fixtures; clean mirrors and windows
• Maintain clean entrances/exits; remove debris
• Report damage and perform minor maintenance as needed
• Follow safety rules and use cleaning chemicals per instructions
• Store materials safely and maintain adequate stock
• Move and relocate furniture as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

Amentum is seeking Utility Cleaners to join our team in McLean, VA!

As a Utility Cleaner, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of communal spaces, restrooms, workspaces, and outside areas as assigned and performs a variety of duties that involve sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting and polishing of surfaces and floors; removing trash; re-stocking supplies; and cleaning restrooms. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government security clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Work Schedule:

7:00 AM- 3:30 PM Monday-Friday

Essential Responsibilities:

• Mop tile and concrete floor areas and vacuum carpeted areas. Sweep, dust, scrub, wax, buff, and strip floors as necessary.Use cleaning equipment, including electric floor buffers, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including but not limited to urinals, toilets, toilet seats, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, hand dryers, floors, walls, showers and locker rooms.Refill hand soap and paper towel dispensers and re-stock toilet paper as needed.
• Clean and disinfect breakroom and kitchen tables, sinks, counters, refrigerator and drinking fountains.
• Empty waste baskets and interior and perimeter garbage cans and place garbage in outside storage bins.
• Dust furniture, equipment, blinds, and light fixtures and clean mirrors and interior window surfaces and surrounding areas.
• Clean entrances and exits, washing finger marks from glass, doors, walls and hardware, and keeping outside area clear of pebbles, snow, cans, paper, etc.
• Report damage and acts of vandalism and report and/or perform minor maintenance repairs.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals and products in accordance with instructions.
• Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner and an adequate supply is maintained.
• Move and/or relocate furniture.
• Comply with all established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility and job assignment.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work is in an office building environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions. Must be able to carry, push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to grasp or handle objects, bend elbows and knees, and reach above shoulders. Extensive walking and standing required. Required to handle hazardous materials.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of general work experience
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment, including knowledge of the Hazardous Materials Information System
• Ability to read and understand instructions and labels, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products
• A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Must demonstrate satisfactory oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to describe incidents via verbal briefing and/or written report.
• Possess the visual and auditory acuity to observe janitorial and mechanical deficiencies
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI US Government security clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
