Job summary

Marmon IEI in the United States seeks a Sheetmetal Fabricator (Utility B) for 2nd shift to produce stainless steel electrical enclosures using grinding, finishing, spot welding and stud welding with strict adherence to specs and timelines.

You will read drawings and BOMs, operate grinders and welding equipment, inspect finished parts, and ensure quality and safety while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities

• Grain finish stainless steel enclosures using belt stroke sanders and grinding tools.
• Apply weld studs using capacitor discharge and drawn arc weld processes.
• Assemble parts to enclosures using resistance welding.
• Start machine and monitor operation for proper performance.
• Inspect products for visual conformance to specifications.
• Interpret and execute drawings, routers, BOMs and written instructions.
• Finish via abrasive blasting and/or grinding.
• Use hand tools, measuring devices and related equipment.
• Report faulty equipment or deviations to supervision.
• Move materials and equipment safely.
• Support Lean/5S and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with Marmon IEI EHS policies.
• Collaborate with leads, supervisors, managers and Marmon IEI employees.

The Sheetmetal Fabricator (Utility B) is responsible for duties related to manufacturing industrial grade stainless steel electrical enclosures using grinding, finishing, spot welding, and stud welding processes and equipment to produce products to meet certification requirements and product specifications in a timely and accurate manner.**Essential Duties:*** Achieving a grained finish on stainless steel enclosures and components using belt stroke sanders, handheld grinding and finishing tools.* Applying weld studs using capacitor discharge, and drawn arc weld processes* Applying parts to enclosures and related products using resistance welding processes and equipment* Start machine and observes operation to assure machine/s are running properly.* Inspect products for visual conformance to specifications and removes defects or defective pieces.* Interpret and execute drawing, routers, bom’s and verbal and written instructions to achieve quality standards.* Internal finishing is accomplished via abrasive blasting and/or grinding.* Work from samples, verbal, and/or written instructions and according to standard procedures.* Use hand tools, measuring devices, and related equipment.* Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.* Move materials, skids, and equipment safely using the proper equipment as needed.* Support and participate in Lean/5S and process improvement initiatives as needed.* Maintain compliance with all Marmon IEI Environmental, Health and Safety policies.* Support activities within compliance to ISO Quality System procedures.* Work as a team with other leads, supervisors, managers, and Marmon IEI employees.* Responsible for all other projects, and tasks as assigned.**Accompanying Desired Attributes:*** Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.* Approach safety consciousness by reliably wearing required PPE.* Consistently produce accurate quality products and properly follow QA procedures and record keeping processes.* Produce quality products at a steady pace to meet on-time delivery targets.* Respectfully makes recommendations and shares ideas to improve safety items, production processes and overall plant continuous improvement.* Collaborates with others throughout the organization in a positive manner involving inquiries, ideas, and/or concerns.* Some independent judgment required to ensure adherence to part specifications and quality guidelines.
