Job summary

Oakworks Inc in New Freedom, PA is seeking entry-level Utility Assemblers for a full-time, second-shift role. The job offers a 4-day workweek with 10-hour shifts (2:00pm–12:30am) and starts at $22.50 per hour.

You will join a family-owned manufacturer of medical and spa tables and contribute to assembling metal, fabric, and wooden components. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 2+ years in electrical or mechanical assembly.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years experience in electrical or mechanical assembly preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and assemble electrical & mechanical components.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Produce and assemble metal, fabric, or wooden components for medical and spa products.
• Cross-train across production areas; higher pay for training in more areas.
• Communicate effectively with multiple departments on the production floor.

Utility Assembler’s can work in multiple areas on our production floor by producing and assembling metal, fabric, or wooden components for our medical and spa products. This position requires a strong aptitude for learning and a positive attitude!

The Utility Assembler position promotes cross training opportunities to help you advance your career at Oakworks. The more areas employees train in, their pay rate increases!

Starting at $22.50/hour

• Train in 3 areas- receive $1.00/ hour increase
• Train in 5 areas- receive an additional $.50/hour
• Train in 8 areas- receive an additional $.50/hour

Qualifications

Education: Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 2+ years experience in electrical or mechanical assembly preferred. Medical product development or other regulated assembly industry experience is preferred.

• Must be able to demonstrate mechanical ability (Read Drawings, Assemble Electrical & Mechanical Components, and Validate Quality)
• Understanding of traditional manufacturing processes with machining and fabricating experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate and work with multiple departments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit/walk/stand for extended periods of time on a daily basis
• Ability to lift/reach/bend/stretch in manufacturing environment
• Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time on a daily basis
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
