Job summary

Wieland Group in Montpelier, OH is hiring a Utility Worker to support efficient material flow in manufacturing, handling receiving, storage and internal logistics. The role operates forklifts, assists with production, and may fill in as an operator when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods within the facility safely and efficiently.
• Organize and maintain storage locations for raw materials, tooling, and finished goods, contributing to the setup of a scalable and efficient material storage system.
• Cleaning Forged Parts through our pangborn process to prepare them for WIP.
• Identifying WIP and finished product by creating and applying labels for our product using WFS.
• Operating production equipment on occasions to fill in for an operator for breaks or in the case of a call in. This is on an as needed basis only.
• Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, including preparing and loading trucks, and inspecting incoming materials for accuracy and damage.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working closely with operations leadership to improve inventory flow, reduce waste, and support 5S implementation.

Wieland is hiring a Utility Worker. The Utility Worker will be responsible for supporting the efficient flow of materials through the manufacturing process by managing receiving, storage, and handling internal logistics. The Utility will work closely with production to ensure optimal OEE is met by providing and removing materials in a timely manner. The Utility can also fill in as an operator during needed times. This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $25.25

Schedule: Mon-Thurs: 6a - 4p

Utility Worker Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness and ability to become forklift certified (if not already)
• Organizational skills, computer literacy and self-initiative in a growing environment with evolving processes
• Ability to safetly lift up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Experience in manufacturting or warehouse environment
