Job summary

Cascades in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Utility to join our manufacturing floor and help bring materials to life while upholding safety and quality on every shift.

You will operate forklift and clamp truck, prepare raw materials, perform quality tests, package finished rolls, and support the production team as needed. Training on the day shift for about a month before night shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Some computer experience; SAP experience is a plus.
• Ability to take initiative and be flexible.
• May be required to complete mechanical and personality testing.
• Strong safety mindset is critical.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and clamp truck in a safe manner.
• Prepping the raw material at the load stand area.
• Do all raw material and finished good quality tests.
• Prepping the finished roll and pallets by using proper packaging instructions.
• Assist in any needs in the production area.

• Salary range for Utility: $20.17/hour.
• Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
• The position will train on the day shift for approximately one month before transitioning to the night shift schedule.

What you'll do

As a Utility, you'll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.

Your day-to-day:

• Ability to drive forklift and clamp truck in a safe manner
• Prepping the raw material at the load stand area
• Do all raw material and finished good quality tests
• Prepping the finished roll and pallets by using proper packaging instructions
• Assist in any needs in the production area

Your strengths as a Utility

You are a natural fit for this role if:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year of previous manufacturing experience preferred
• Capable of lifting to 40 lbs.
