Job summary

Nestlé USA Glendale facility seeks an Industrial Services Supervisor to oversee building and utilities infrastructure, ensure safe, reliable operation, and supervise Water Recycling Operators and Technicians. You will maintain IS systems per plan, coordinate with production and safety teams, and drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Experience with CMMS SAP, energy and water systems, and ASME/OSHA knowledge is valued.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engineering or maintenance experience, preferably in Industrial Services with direct supervision
• Experience with utility and infrastructure systems supporting food manufacturing is preferred
• Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) preferred

• Be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the industrial services to meet the operation’s demand

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Industrial Services Supervisor is accountable for the operational supply of the required Building and Utilities infrastructure for the site and ensuring the safe reliable and efficient maintenance of the industrial services (IS) equipment and supply services for assigned areas of industrial services.Primary industrial services responsibilities include:

• Steam and hot water generation and distribution, including condensate recovery
• Refrigeration and chilled water (and/or other cold medium) generation and distribution
• Potable and process water treatment, supply, and distribution system
• Compressed air generation and distribution
• AHU & HVAC system
• Water recycling system
• Energy efficiency and resource conservation of these utilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the industrial services to meet the operation’s demand. This includes direct supervision of the Water Recycling Operators and Industrial Services Technicians, providing direction and developing their capability and performance.
• Ensure that the IS equipment is properly and safely maintained according to the maintenance plan utilizing CMMS (SAP) while minimizing the impact on production.
• Compliance with all federal, state, local, and internal Nestlé requirements for operation and maintenance IS systems and Water Recycling Center. Ensure all staff are aware of requirements and their responsibility. Keep documentation updated with any changes carried out using the change management process.
• Ensure the efficient operation of all IS systems minimizing the use of natural resources, energy, and the impact on the environment. This includes leveraging 3rd party vendors to optimize and improve current operations.
• Close coordination with production, and engagement with safety, quality and HR as needed. Oversee external vendors and contractors as applicable.
• Develop competence in the IS discipline for continuous support and improvement of the IS operation. Stay apprised of industry best practices and their potential application and benefits in the IS area.

EDUCATION:

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering preferred.
• Licensed engineer or EIT preferred.
• RETA certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of engineering or maintenance experience, preferably in Industrial Services and with direct supervision required.
  • Experience in utility and infrastructure systems that support food manufacturing preferred.
• Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) preferred.

SKILLS:

• Strong knowledge of utility and facility systems and the ability to relate it to current and new designs.
• Strong experience based in detailed equipment design, installation, and execution for utility and facilities systems.
• Working knowledge of energy management systems in both concept and execution.
• Strong drawing reading and interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and MS project preferred.
• Working knowledge of utilities, energy recovery, and automation and control.
• Knowledge of applicable Laws relating to OSHA, EPA, ASME code, and other related regulations that are part of utility and facility management.
• Strong technical and leadership skills. Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.
• Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge/awareness of ASME Boilers & Pressure Vessel Code and Standard, ASME Pressure Piping Code B31, and ASME Pipes & Fittings Code B16.
• Working knowledge/understanding of Ultrasonic Probes, Vibration Analysis Equipment and Tools, Thermal Scanners, and Tribology.
• Understands principles of QMS, HACCP, PSM, and SSM.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
