Job summary

Orion is seeking a dedicated Utilities Project Engineer in Dallas to support the Utility Project Manager and field operations. The role focuses on procurement, tracking, coordination, and organization of underground utility construction materials to ensure on-time delivery and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong communication with project management, field personnel, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; able to learn other CM software.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Experience in procurement, logistics, material management or related work considered.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Utility Project Manager in coordinating projects and procurement of materials.
  • Maintain procurement logs, track quantities, lead times, and delivery dates.
  • Coordinate material deliveries with vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Verify deliveries, resolve shortages or wrong deliveries, and document material quantities installed.
  • Organize onsite material storage and staging areas; monitor inventory to prevent shortages.
  • Support project documentation and administrative tasks as required.
