Job summary

Air Liquide Geismar is seeking a Production Technician for our water plant in Geismar, LA. You will contribute to safe and efficient plant operations, follow maintenance procedures, and assist with process monitoring and data recording.

The role requires strong safety awareness, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read blueprints and P&IDs. Eligibility for 12-hour rotating shifts, nights, and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours.
• Knowledge of plant operations, processes/equipment, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of plant safety rules and company safety policies.
• Performs work in compliance with operating/maintenance procedures and safety requirements.

Issues safe work permit documentation and performs lock-out tag-out of equipment.* Acquires knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment.* Exhibits some instrumentation and mechanical aptitude.* Learns and follows standard operating procedures, corporate procedures; read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P & IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations.* Keeps accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures.* Demonstrates knowledge/understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles.* Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, operations PM's.* Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational standards**Job Requirements:*** High school diploma or GED required.* Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours as business needs dictate.* Ability to fill in for vacations/emergency shift relief coverage as situations warrant.* Overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, company safety policies/procedures.* Performs all work in compliance with standard operating/maintenance procedures utilizing current safety requirements including Lockout/Tagouts, safe work permits, energy control isolation, IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc* Ability to communicate with written/spoken.* Acquiring knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes/equipment.* Understanding of governmental regulations including environmental permitting/compliance, loading /quality assurance, basic electricity, national/local operating procedures, CMMS, maintenance management process, all HSE issues associated with the facility.* Mechanical aptitude: Ability to learn/follow national/local standard operating procedures; follow through on instructions; work with minimal supervision; read/interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations.* Basic knowledge/understanding of control board, operating off of operator interface consoles (computer) Basic computer (PC) skills; ability to use required software computer applications.**Physical Requirements:*** Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing.* Must be able to lift 50lbs.
