Job summary

DSM-Firmenich AG is seeking a Process Engineer Utilities at our Belvidere, NJ site to drive safe, reliable, and efficient utility systems. You will lead optimization, support maintenance, and collaborate across engineering, operations, and fermentation teams to improve plant performance.

The role requires at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, knowledge of utility systems and regulatory requirements, and expertise in continuous improvement. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within chemical or pharmaceutical industries.
• Knowledge of utility systems, environmental requirements, regulatory compliance, and process safety principles.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, operational excellence, and Lean Six Sigma tools.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to independently manage process optimization initiatives and provide technical support across plant operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.

Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence by analyzing process performance and identifying optimization opportunities.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and support reliability initiatives, including preventive maintenance.
• Manage capital and improvement projects, including automation and digitalization initiatives.
• Champion continuous improvement programs such as 5S and Impact initiatives to boost performance.
• Ensure safety, quality, environmental and regulatory compliance with accurate documentation.
• Provide technical coaching and cross-functional collaboration across the site.
