Summary of Position

Kinsley is seeking personnel for our growing Utilities water and gas line crews in Ephrata, PA, and surrounding areas in Lancaster and Berks County, PA. Positions includepipelayersandservicetechnicians. Successful candidates should possess a willingness to learn, have a good work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Pipelayer

  • Replacing/installing pipe in trench.
  • Joining pipe.
  • Service work installation.
  • Tapping live pipelines including tie-in connections.
  • Job site hazard recognition.
  • Driving non-CDL dump trucks and service trucks.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Service Technician

  • Complete pipefitting tasks as required by using basic hand tools (pipe wrenches, thread steel pipe, flair fittings, and hammer drill).
  • Relocate gas meters from inside to outside to ensure the piping is connected to the existing customer fuel line.
  • Install pressure set point gauges.
  • Perform load/lockup tests.
  • Pinpoint and manage possible leaks.
  • Recognize hazards that may constitute a warning tag.
  • Appropriately tag customer fuel lines or appliances as needed (red, orange, or yellow tag).
  • Complete electronic orders and document gas meter information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum experience of 1 year in pipe installation.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years operating equipment for the Equipment Operator position.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the MSP, GOM, Fuel Gas Code, etc. for the Service Technician position.
  • Must have HVAC knowledge to perform meter activation and relight natural gas appliances under UGI procedures for the Service Technician position.
  • Experience working with and around heavy equipment.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
  • Must have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
