Sanders Brothers Construction Company is seeking a Utilities Area Manager to lead the Utilities Department responsible for water, sewer, and storm drain operations. This role requires strategic direction, executive-level leadership, and accountability for safety, quality, and profitability across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Progressive utility construction experience; senior field or operations management is valued.
• Ability to analyze operational and financial data to drive performance.
• Strong leadership and accountability across multi-project utilities operations.
• Knowledge of water, sewer and storm drain systems and installation methods.
• Ability to read construction drawings, schedules and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level direction for Utilities Department operations.
• Maintain accountability for safety, quality, production, utilization, and profitability.
• Lead and develop Utilities Management team across levels.
• Set expectations, standards, and performance metrics for utilities operations.
• Develop and execute departmental plans aligned with revenue, backlog, and growth.
• Forecast manpower, equipment, and workload for projects.
• Ensure projects align with budgets, schedules, and contracts.
• Review performance data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Drive cost control, quality, and safety improvement initiatives.
• Partner with PMs during bid reviews to verify scope and execution plans.
• Support long-range planning and backlog management for Utilities.
